Robert Anderson
CEO
Mr. Anderson has over 37 years of professional experience and has served as Chief Executive Officer of Petro Peak Energy, LLC (Petro Peak) since 2024. Prior to founding Petro Peak, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Earthstone Energy, Inc. (Earthstone) from April 2020 until its merger with Permian Resources Corp. (PR) in November 2023 when he became a member of the PR board. He previously served as President of Earthstone from April 2018 until he became CEO. He also served on the board of directors of Earthstone between April 2022 and November 2023. From December 2014 through April 2018, Mr. Anderson served as Earthstone’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Engineering. Previously, he served in a similar capacity with Oak Valley Resources LLC (Oak Valley) from March 2013 until the closing of its strategic combination with Earthstone in December 2014. Prior to joining Oak Valley, he served from August 2012 to February2013 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Halcón Resources Corporation (Halcón). Mr. Anderson was employed by GeoResources, Inc. from April 2007 until its merger with Halcón in August 2012, ultimately serving as a director and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer – Northern Region. He was involved in the formation of Southern Bay Energy in September 2004 as Vice President, Acquisitions until its merger with GeoResources in April 2007. From March 2004 to August 2004, Mr. Anderson was employed by AROC, a predecessor company to Southern Bay Energy, as Vice President, Acquisitions and Divestitures. Prior to March 2004, he was employed in technical and supervisory roles with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, major oil companies including ARCO International/Vastar Resources, and independent oil companies, including Hugoton Energy, Hunt Oil and Pacific Enterprises Oil Company. Mr. Anderson’s professional experience includes acquisition evaluation, reservoir and production engineering, field development, project economics, budgeting and planning, and capital markets. He is currently an At-Large Director of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). Mr. Anderson holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
Steve Collins
COO
Mr. Collins has over 35 years of professional experience and has served as Chief Operating Officer of Petro Peak since 2024. Prior to founding Petro Peak, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Earthstone Energy, Inc. since December 2014. Previously, Mr. Collins served in a similar capacity with Oak Valley Resources LLC from its formation in December 2012 until the closing of its strategic combination with the Company in December 2014. Mr. Collins was employed by GeoResources, Inc. from April 2007 until its merger with Halcón in August 2012 and directed field operations, including well completion, production and workover operations. Prior to employment by GeoResources, he served as Vice President of Operations for Southern Bay, AROC, and Texoil, and as a petroleum and operations engineer at Hunt Oil Company and Pacific Enterprises Oil Company. His experience includes operations in Texas, Louisiana (onshore and offshore), North Dakota, New Mexico, Montana, and the Mid-Continent. Mr. Collins graduated with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Scott Thelander
CFO
Mr. Thelander has 18 years of professional experience and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Petro Peak since 2024. Prior to founding Petro Peak, he served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Earthstone Energy, Inc. from 2017 until its merger with Permian Resources in 2023. Previously, he served as Director at UBS Investment Bank in Oil and Gas coverage group, beginning in 2013 with a focus on upstream and midstream M&A, debt and equity financings. From 2011 until 2013, he was employed by Barclays Capital in the Industrials coverage group. He began his professional career as a civil engineer with Jacobs. Mr. Thelander graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree with a Finance concentration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Travis Everson
Vice President of Land
Mr. Everson has 18 years of professional experience and has served as Vice President of Land of Petro Peak since 2024. Prior to joining Petro Peak, he served as Midland Basin Land Manager at Civitas Resources, Inc. and Land Manager at Earthstone Energy, Inc. (Earthstone) from 2019 until its merger with Permian Resources in 2023. Mr. Everson was involved in the acquisition, integration and development of Earthstone’s seven major acquisitions throughout the Midland and Delaware Basins. Previously, he served as Sr. Landman at Earthstone, Oak Valley Resources, LLC and GeoResources, Inc. Mr. Everson has worked extensively in the major basins of Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Mr. Everson graduated with a B.S. degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University.
Juan Mata
Director of Reservoir Engineering
Mr. Mata has eleven years of professional experience in the Oil and Gas industry and has served as Director of Reservoir Engineering of Petro Peak since 2024. Prior to joining Petro Peak, he served as Staff Reservoir Engineer at Permian Resources and Reserves Manager at Earthstone Energy, Inc (Earthstone) from 2019 until its merger with Permian Resources in 2023. During his tenure at Earthstone, Mr. Mata led the technical and economic evaluations for six of the company’s seven major acquisitions throughout the Midland and Delaware basins that increased company production from 15 to 130 mboepd. Previously, he gained extensive experience as a Senior Reservoir Engineer while working in the Fayetteville, Marcellus, and Utica assets for Southwestern Energy, since 2013. Before working in Oil and Gas, Mr. Mata played a prominent role in screening and evaluating land acquisition and development opportunities for a major national homebuilder for eight years after having worked as a software development professional for four years. Mr. Mata graduated with a Master of Petroleum Engineering degree in 2014 from the University of Houston and received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000.
